Oat Bran is the rich outer husk of the grain, which is normally discarded during the milling process. The oat bran is designed to provide fiber and nutrition to the growing plant until it can support itself.
In fact, oat brans contain the bulk of dietary fiber, up to 50% more fiber intake than regular oat meal. It is an excellent source of Soluble Fiber, Protein and the B vitamins: Thiamin, Riboflavin and B6. They also provide Iron, Calcium, Magnesium, Selenium and Phosphorus.
